As time passed, people began to make statues of pious and good individuals who inspired them. However, after their death, these people were increasingly honored and worshiped alongside Allah, which led to a destructive practice of idol worship and moral corruption spreading across the earth. The injustice and devotion to these statues obscured the true teachings of the oneness of God. In response to this distortion of faith, Allah sent His servant and Messenger Noah, who was designated as the first Messenger on earth to guide people back to the true worship of Allah.
Allah the Most High says (in an interpretation of the translation): ''We sent Noah to his people: 'Warn your people before a painful punishment comes upon them.'' [Surah Noah; verse 1]. This message emphasized the need for a just way of life and avoiding the sins associated with idolatry that had spread as a result of the wrongful practices among the people after his death.
